The Requirements
To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:- A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Multiple years of broad-based experience and knowledge of commercial print (both offset and digital), direct mail, large format, and promotional products; experience calling on or working for a Marketing department is a plus Quick question for you - click here
- Specific print industry experience, with expertise in commercial print and direct mail
- A strong understanding of marketing, creative thinking, and the ability to translate the customer's needs to produce high-quality work with extensive project management follow through
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to keep multiple tasks and projects moving forward simultaneously
- Comfortability with industry technology applications, such as prepress, proofing and approval technology, project and campaign management tools, and color management control
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite programs
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to work with and gain buy-in from many different people and personalities to complete a job
- An understanding of the essential nature of the department’s expectations for speed and responsiveness, and the ability to execute to meet these expectations
- Critical thinking skills, and the ability to get customer questions answered
- The ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends as needed, including a few critical dates each month that you will be required to be in the office
- The ability to pass all required checks and screenings as needed to work in a hospital environment
- The ability to work specific times directly on-site in the department at the hospital as needed
The Role
WorkflowOne has won the contract to complete print work for all aspects of a Cincinnati-based hospital system. Your focus will be to act as the expert from our side, interacting with the marketing department of the hospital system to provide advice, professional guidance, and management and execution of projects. You'll complete all necessary tasks, which range from the simple, such as delivering proofs, to the sophisticated, such as counseling on appropriate print technologies and other alternatives to projects being developed by the customer to add value to our offering.You will need to come in with a strong knowledge base so that you can be the commercial print and direct mail expert that this client needs. Some of the things you’ll need to know include:
- The rules of direct mail (as governed by the post office)
- How to choose the correct weight of paper for direct mail pieces
- How each piece will be printed (digital vs. offset)
- How variable imaging will get on the piece
- How to get a price on a job and execute it all the way to completion
- Postal indicia requirements
- Working with the sourcing team to get job pricing
- Working with the customer service team to place orders
- Helping to select the vendor that will produce the job
- Expediting proofs by working with the customer to get them approved in a timely way

Keys to Success
Though we understand that you won’t come in knowing how to answer every single customer question, you’ll need to have the background knowledge and ability to hit the ground running on the very first day. You need to understand direct mail and print processes well enough so that you can understand what the client needs and can bring those questions to the attention of the correct resource at our organization to get them answered.To fit comfortably in this role, you'll need to be willing to do what needs to be done to complete jobs, which may include receiving and completing client requests in the evening or on weekends. There will also be particular blackout dates each month where you'll need to be in the office to complete a specifically required set of tasks for this contract.
